Houston is notorious for its lack of zoning laws. While the city does have a number of codes on how properties can be subdivided, these codes do not have anything to say about land use. While there are certain minimum property standards, it’s best to run any questions you might have by the Houston Permitting Center in order to ensure that all of the necessary protocol is followed.
